The team behind every tray

The team behind every tray

Cultivation, grading, processing, packing — meet the people who keep our standards consistent season after season, and how regular training keeps it that way.

Almost everything that determines the quality of a strawberry is a judgement call made by a person. Whether a block is ready. Whether a berry is firm enough for a tray. Whether a batch of pulp looks right coming off the line. No amount of equipment removes those decisions — it only changes who is making them and how consistently.

Grading is a trained skill

A new grader and an experienced one can look at the same tray and disagree. The experienced one is faster and, more importantly, more repeatable — they will make the same call on the same fruit on Monday as on Friday.

That consistency is what a buyer is actually purchasing when they specify a grade. It is why our people go through regular training rather than a single induction, and why graders are evaluated on an ongoing basis rather than assumed to be calibrated forever.

Standards that survive a busy day

Any operation can hold its standards on a quiet Tuesday. The test is peak season, when fruit is coming in faster than anyone would like and the temptation to wave through a marginal tray is strongest.

Documented hygiene and handling procedures exist mostly for those days. They are not there to constrain people who know what they are doing; they are there so the right call is still the easy call when everyone is under pressure. Our facility is FSSAI-licensed, in full compliance with Indian food safety standards.

Seasonal work, returning people

Strawberry farming is inherently seasonal, and the crew swells sharply during harvest. The quality difference between an operation where those workers return year after year and one that rebuilds its crew from scratch each season is enormous, because all that accumulated judgement walks out the door otherwise.

Most of our seasonal team has been with us across multiple seasons. They know the blocks, they know the grades, and they know what a good tray looks like without being told.

Quality is nurtured at every step, from planting to final product.
